Well the '73 Bronco I had found local was sold before I could go pick it up. Turns out it was the greatest thing that could have happened. Found this '74 about an hour east of Knoxville. This Bronco is completely original. It has a 302 that purrs like a kitten and a clutch that is as smooth as can be. It's got 40,xxx original miles and it's lived its whole life in the same little town with 3 owners that all knew each other.

I pulled this on a tow dolly from UHaul about 180 miles and my 4Runner never broke a sweat. Gas mileage was crap, but other than that, not a problem at all. :D

It's going to stay close to stock as it can be. I may put a 1-2" lift on it just to put some slightly bigger all terrain tires on it. Other than that it'll get fresh fluids, seals, brakes and all the other routine maintenance that hasn't been done in over 10 years. The door posts and floor boards will need to be replaced along with a few other body parts. Eventually paint and new interior that will match the stock one. It's going to be a weekend project over the next couple of years to get it where I want it, but that's more than half the fun.

Keep an eye out for it on campus, haddix. I'll have it up there in a week or so after I start turning some wrenches on it.
 
Wow, that thing is ugly (in a good way). I've always liked the older Broncos. They remind me a lot of International Scouts, which are my all-time favorite old 4x4.

Ill look around for it. Watch for my 4runner, sometime this week it will be rolling around on 35's..

Ha, that's sweet. What kind did you go with?

I'm hoping to have the Bronco up here next week. Going to spend all weekend turning the wrenches, changing the fluids, putting some new tires on it and hopefully get it registered early Monday so I can drive it around.
 
That's a classic. Nice find! I always liked the Broncos and I would own one if I had a pratical reason for it or enough room for a big toy :hatsoff:

Ill start looking sometime next week then. I went with mickey thompson MTZ. Just waiting on the wheel spacers to come on an they should be here on friday.
 
Sweet find, my grandfather loved those years he had two with dark meatallic green paint and white roofs. The are cool. congrats hope the project goes well for you.

Nice tires, where did you get them from, local or ordered?

I'm putting some weak sauce 235/75/15 Goodyear Wrangler's on the Bronco for the time being. The ones that are on there now I wouldn't trust above 50mph or for longer than the next month. I'll wait to put some decent rubber on there after I get around to lifting it in the spring.
 
Thanks, I found them on craigslist in Ohio off of a guy. Have you been on campus this year yet? I dont think ive seen your runner around yet..

Good score. Craigslist is the best thing going, found a couple of motorcycles on there and this Bronco.

Yeah, on campus every day of the week. Usually over at Straton most days. If I'm on the main part of campus I park in the Alumni lot. Just look for the silver lifted 4th gen with plastic/armor lower and Sig Sauer sticker on the driver's side back window.

I think I may have seen yours a few times. Do you have several stickers on your windows?
 
Yeah craigslist is where its at. Damn thats you..Didnt know that. I atually think ive been like right beside you lol. Sharp rig. I like it alot. Yeah ive got a ttora stiker then the t4r.org and toytec on the side window..
 
Yep, seen your truck several times then, nice looking. Can't wait to see it rolling on 35's. Honk next time you see me.
