Meetup at Prairie City [Near Sacramento] (Mid March)

Is there good camping in the area? I might consider driving up Fri. camp out Fri. and Sat and drive back Sun. would be a shit load of driving but I might be up for it if I don't have to work that weekend.

I don't know of any good spots close to the park but your more then welcome to crash at my apartment Friday night if you make it up. I'm about 45-1hr away from the park. We could :beer: Friday and cruise up Saturday

And judging from your profile pic it appears your runner is related to mine...probably cousins

Hi guys,
FYI....that place is going to be psycho on the 22nd. It's Hangtown Motocross races. I WILL be there, but with the off road club running security for the event and pulling or yanking stuck or broken vehicles. Mostly hanging out...lol.

You may want to make sure the general area will be open and not closed due to this huge event.

And I got nominated by the club prez to lead a off road run this upcoming weekend, Sat. 15th. I'm going to Foresthill & Nevada County/Downieville to scout out some possible trails....well after I call the Forest Service to make sure the trail is open. I really wanted to do the Mormon Immigrant trails but they don't plan on opening that area & the rest of Hwy 4 earliest at the end of the month. If anyone is free this Tues or Wed. and wants to come with, let me know. This will be my first official "Trail Master" run. If you guys are still going to Prairie City on the 22nd, I'd love to stop by and say howdy & maybe play a little before I have to go to "work" lol.

Well I can add calling the State Parks Ranger contact I have regarding you guys playing the same time Hangtown is there. I'll scout the trails Tues or Wed. and then post here immed. what run I'll be leading on the 15th. Short notice and I'm sorry about that. I had planned on doing a run to Allegheny but the lady up there said only come up if you have MT's which I don't. Ih8mud! lol
Well, some mud....just not deep snowy slushy mud that runs right along a cliff straight down to the Yuba River kind of mud!
If you have a off road book trail guide...It's Poker Flat in Downieville that I'm wanting to go on. The trail in Foresthill is not really a run, more like an out and back, to a hiking trail to see waterfalls from the river.
Also, I'm planning on doing the SUV run to Mormon Immigrant trail (aka Deer Valley) in summer and I'll also be hitting the club up to do an over nighter club run to the ocean for some trails down there near San Louis Obispo. I've always wanted to off road in the sand and then camp out there. I'm just afraid to go alone other wise I'd do my own thing mini-vaca this summer! Well I won't be totally alone...this girl packs a Sig! lol
Or I may do the Henness Pass Trail also outside of Downieville/Nevada City as an over nighter. The club will be doing our usual official adopted trail over nighter extravaganza event at Hell Hole. Yes I've had Ruffian on Hell Hole trail, had to since it's the clubs trail, but only to the 1st Rubicon like obstacle. And don't forget Cal 4WD's Sierra Trek being held at Cody Meadows this year instead of the Fordyce trails. Club will again be running the bar there with yours truly one of the bar wenches again! I'll have to get better at posting all these runs here.
