Would you be able to use one of these for an on-board air set up? Like connect it to a tank and hardwire it? The heavy duty compressor might be able to be used for air tools if it is 5.7 cfm.... anyone ever try this out?
 
You can hook the compressor to an air tank and add a pressure switch with relay. Typically compressors don't do as well in the hot engine bay.

The rating is high enough to use with air tools on a tank. I use a smaller compressor with 1.75gal tank at home for air tools. Not as good as the shop compressors, but workable.

I would not remove the thermal cutout circuits on the compressors though.
 
Alright thanks, i was also wondering where you would enter the promotion code on your website? I understand how it wouldn't be a good idea to mount it in the engine bay. I would actually have it mounted in a storage box in the back, but i would try to ventilate it so it would not overheat. Thanks for the help.

Dear T4R.ORG Members...I wish I purchased the Overland Warehouse Deluxe Air Compressor.

Just to let guys know that time is running out on these.

Also since we got a few questions on this:

The Basic Compressors is rated at 3CFM or 84L/min

The Deluxe Compressor is rated at 5.7CFM or 160L/min

On both the run time is listed 40min, and a thermal cutoff does kick in when it starts to overhead. In reality it would be listed as a 33% duty cycle on both units, pretty much what you can expect for this type of flow rate in the size of these units.

Hope this covers some of the questions we got.

I have used the deluxe version to air up my 315/75/16s from 14PSI to 35PSI a number of times now (still have to get my CO2 filled :)). Even used it once to air up my tires from 8PSI to 32PSI and another truck with smaller tires.

I tried to order the Deluxe Air Compressor last night and an error comes up, but when I tried with the Basic Air Compressor the discount did apply so I am guessing that the Deluxe is out of stock or a limit of promotional codes were used.

I just got this when i tried ordering it again... is it sold out or did something mess up again?
