Methods or FNs or?

I can't decide what wheels I want to pair with my new 265 70 17 ST maxx's.

I want a 17x8.5 in either gunmetal or bronze. I have 2"/2.5" of lift on a millennium silver SR5.

Thoughts?

I was set on the methods but I have a hard time pulling the trigger on them only running 32s I think they may look a little weird.

No SCS either since they aren't available anyways

I have FN BFD’s on my GX, and honestly could not be happier. Plus, Dustin is probably the nicest dude ever to buy stuff from and their customer service is on another level.

I got the FN FX Pro in bronze and I love them!

Have you checked the weight difference between the two? They both look good but looks aren't all a rims about.

I don't know if this is accurate but the konig countersteer 17x8s are 20.5lbs/ea.
The MEthod con 6 in 17x8.5 is 31lbs.

This seems like a huge difference

That's why I mentioned it. To many people just want a cool looking rim without ever going into the weight. 10 pounds more unsprung weight is a huge difference. When I got my rims I made damn sure I liked the looks and the weight. lol

The scs lotto is ridiculous.
The FN weight was a major deciding factor for me. Only to find out, Dustin and the folks at FN rock and are great to deal with. FN all the way. Plus I think you'll have to shim the method wheels to get them to fit right.

For those of you running Konigs, did you have to get new lug nuts?

Go with FN, you won't regret it. The Six Shooters are light, strong, and priced competitively. From what I understand they are the only ones from FN so far that are flow-formed instead of full cast.

I like the SCS wheels but to have to wait and play games to hope to get an order in is too much for me. I don’t have time to watch a thread and race others to place an order.

I will go with a set of FN’s more than likely.

I just dealt with Dustin over at FN wheels, and I can tell you he knows his wheels and he knows his Toyotas. I hit him with a ton of questions and he had the answers, to the extent of knowing competitors' product offerings/specs, and compatibility of his various wheels with specific mods on 3rd gens.

I placed an order, but haven't seen the wheels yet, so I can't say much beyond that.

They hype surrounding SCS is out of control, and is mainly due to the following they have on TW. I like their wheels, but to me they don't really stand out anymore as they are so commonplace on the web (at least Toyota based online communities). Even locally, a fair number of modded Toyotas are running some flavor of SCS, myself included.

FN is the only other wheel vendor besides SCS who has their wheels specifically made for Toyota applications with the proper 106.3mm center bore versus the more common 108mm universal to Chevy, Toyota, Nissan, along with conical lug seats. They were also ahead of SCS in offering more aggressive offsets and a full lineup of lightweight wheels.

Call Dustin before you order. It will help make up your mind.

Level 8s mk6 are pretty nice for the price. Just put then on wife's Tacoma. This fns are bad add though.

$900 for wheels...ddaaaamnn! I don't think I ever spent more than $300 for wheels before.

I would go with Silver (or black) cuz I dislike colored wheels on my vehicles but go with what you like.

I shot FN wheels an email Sunday night but haven't heard anything back yet

That is the STUPIDEST shit and exactly why when I eventually buy a set of aftermarket wheels they won’t be SCS. I like their designs but the “limited” availability is flat out retarded.
