i think the arb built 4runner limited had the same tires and found them very nice.

Glad you like your Rugged Trails, but BFG AT's are considered to be some of the best of their kind. Why do you consider them a POS? Just curious- I found them to be awesome on my other vehicles.

Antman,, i got the rugged terrains,, not the trails...everyone i talked to that had the trails did not like them (the ones that come OE on many cars)...the guys at discount tire told me they had a ton of trouble with the trails as well...so i guess i am speaking through what i was told, not experience. I agree that the BFG AT's are awesome...just wish they would have come in a 255 75 20

hahahaah sounds good,,,these new rugged terrains are worth checking out,,,by the way,,,finally got the PIAAS and the defiant put on...thanks for the help!!! getting the bumper bolts off took a trip to the body shop but otherwise was a good install...now onto the airlift 1000's!!!!! hahahaha
Michelin LTX MS2 tire.
Put them on my 2011 4Runner the same day I bought the vehicle. Sold the Bridgestones that were on there to the retail tire shop for $400 and bought the Michelins. I went for them as I had had them before and the LTX MS back in the late nineties. They handle great, are quiet and based on previous experience give long wear. I believe they are rated for 75,000 miles. My previous vehicle had 70,000 on them when I sold it and they still looked in decent shape.

I have a set on my 2011 LE, and for a highway tire, don't think there is anything better. Had a set on my GX470 as well, and my girlfriends previous 4Runner, and both also were great.
I recently put a set of M/S 2's on my 2010 trail. The stock Bridgestones just wouldnt balance out.
Only have around 5k miles on them. Tires are pretty queit, I get a little road noise around 20-30 mph. Ride is alot better, especially going around any kind of corner. The Michelins do not roll over like the stock Bridgestons.
I did go up in the load rating to 121/118R vs stock 113S.

I am running the LTX MS2 as well. For a highway tire, they are incredible. Compared to the stock Bridgestone's, these are 10x better. They aren't the best for off road because they can still fill up with mud fast, but last year when we got a lot of ice in DFW, Texas these things didn't have any problem coupled with my 4x4. They are also great on wet roads.
I rotate mine every 5,000 miles. I have read around the net and the guy at Discount said that they have seen these tires get over 100,000 miles on them before needing to be replaced.
If you mainly use your car on the road and need a great, long-lasting tire, these are the way to go. I have put 20,000 miles on mine so far, and the tread looks great still.

I have the Michelin LTX M/S2 on my 3rd gen and they continue to exceed my expectations. They are quite, have great treadwear, handle great in wet conditions, and their performance in snow is very good. I occasionally venture "offroad" via farmland to find some smallmouth bass and have never had any problems. I think you will be pleased like most people have indicated from the reviews on tirerack.com.
