I suspect this has been in development for awhile. Ive found stuff on the web on it dating back to 06

pretty amazing, but I imagine it would fill up with dirt, rocks, snow (my nemisis, or play environment depending on how you look at it)

I've seen these too and thought how cool. What gets me though is polyeurathane seems like the wrong stuff for the spokes if you need it to work in Barrow AK on Jan 27 and work in Southwest TX in July. It would break in Barrow or be too soft in Texas, one of the two. Some type of spring steel might do it but that's heavy... Oh well, that's why I don't design tires.
