Hi
I recently moved to taylor michigan. I heard a noise coming from the front tire i thought i would take it to midas..and now i am regretting the decision somehow...my 4wd which ran like a quiet ninja is as loud as a jet....700 bucks into new bearings, and still a grinding sounds in the front...just to find out it could be the control arm.....its moments like this when i wish i had a lift .i would just try to fix myself...(end rant)

Anyways...does anynone know a good 4runner mechanic in the taylor, trenton or allan park area.....fall is coming and not sure who i can trust with my rig

any advice or jokes is appreciated
thanks
:thanks::redbrick::redbrick:
Sorry to hear of all that trouble. Will say that most around these parts are Jeep 4 Wheelers and I haven't found any shop that will say, "Sure, we work on 4Runner suspensions and lifts all the time..."

Does anyone have Red Wings Tickets?

My extended family is from downriver Detroit and I am heading up for a Christmas party during the middle of December. I was wondering if anyone on here had 4 Red Wings tickets available for Friday, December 15th. The game is against Toronto and I have not had any luck with other selling sites. On top of that, transferring tickets over email from craigslist is sketchy.

If anyone has some extras or won't be able to make it to that game PM me!

Thanks T4R members,
Jay

SE Michigan Help

New to the forum here!

I've had my 4Runner for 3 years now and I've finally pulled the trigger on getting Bilstein 5100s. Anyone know of a reputable mechanic that can install? Ideally it would be in a 25 mile radius of Troy, MI, but I'd be interested in others!

I'm going for a leveled look and an overall lift. I going to set the fronts to 2.25" and then add the 1" spacers in the back. Memorial Day Weekend I'm going to upgrade my tires to KO2s so overall it should be a nice little transformation!

Try Mumbly's Off-Road in Fraser (Groesbeck near Masonic). Not sure how much experience they have with Toyota's, but they've been around a long time and have a good reputation.

Just got my 2003, I'm in Grand Rapids. I'm in Two Trackers Four Wheel Drive Club, fantastic organization! I've been wheeling my Infiniti QX4 for almost three years now, and I've finally moved onto a better platform. Can't wait to see if some kind of organized group can get figured out! We've got a small crew of Jap trucks going (also allowing "runt" Jeeps like WK and KJ; we're usually the excluded ones, so why don't we play nicely with everybody!) so maybe that'll grow into something.

Western Michigan Scenery

My folks have a farm in Alpena and I am making a trip up there this August. I am coming up from St. Louis and would like to take a more scenic, lake shore route on the western side towards Ludington and Manistee, and then head East around Traverse City.

I have seen some campgrounds around the area but would like to venture off into Huron-Manistee National Forest. If you all have any recommendations I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hey Scott,

I called over there not to long after ordering my parts and they quoted me over $600 dollars. I found another place online out in Chesterfield (forgot the name) but they were around 22-23 and Gratiot and they quoted me $250.

The guy I sit next to at work has a friend that runs a Midas and quoted me $150-200 so I'm going to go through him after the 4th of July.

Make sure, especially in the National Forests, that you have the appropriate licenses to legally drive places. A lot of campgrounds and parks in Michigan require a parks and rec. pass, which is usually about $16.

Looks good. I am in the Ann Arbor area and would love to get my 2011 Sr5 lifted but cant find any local shops to do the work?

Nice. Where did that one come from?
I got it from Troy. But the truck was originally from Nantucket I think because there still is a Nantucket beach pass from 1998. So I think I'm going name this project the Nantucket Rust Bucket.

I did a compression test and discovered I need to do an engine rebuild as the cylinders range from 55 psi to 145 psi. Does anyone know a good machine shop in the area for getting the heads resurfaced?
