Middle seats removal?

Wondering if you: 1) encountered any problems with taking out the hardware for the seats and, perhaps more importantly, 2) tried to put the seats back in and how that went? I needed to do this same thing with my rear seats on my 2005 v6 two-seat configuration (which I assume are the same as the middle seats in a three seat configuration?) and asked the dealer about it. He said he thought there might be a spring load or something in the hardware which might make putting the seats back in impossible. I asked him to ask one of the mechanics who might know and he came back and said that the mechanics advised against taking out the rear seats but didn't give a reason. So I haven't dared do it. But in three days I desperately need the space on a cross country trip. Thanks for any info!

Pictures of Removal and Re-install
I just removed my middle row seats from my 4th gen for a camping trip with my son. First time doing it so I figured I share my observations.
This is for the 4th gen with 3rd row seating option and tumble forward 2nd row:
REMOVAL
1. Plastic covers are easy to remove with seats tumbled forward - pull out on the sides of the front covers and then slide them downward. BE GENTLE!
2. The plastic covers on the back of the mounts are NOT all the same. Take a minute to observe the difference so you can save a few minutes when you reinstall. The front plastic covers are all the same.
3. Each seat has 3 bolts and a stud with a nut on the end. The stud can be easily un-threaded from the floorboard once the seat is out so you don't have to worry about it catching on anything you are transporting.
4. Seats tend to want to open up when removing them. Hold them in a way to keep them from opening when removing.
REINSTALL
1. Set the seats in the truck in the tumbled forward position and the hand thread the 2 rear bolts. Once they are hand tight you can tighten the front bolt and nut on the stud. Doing it in this order helps get everything lined up right.
2. Keep the seats at about a 45 degree angle (SEE PHOTOS) and slip the front plastic cover up into place.
3. Remember the back covers are each a little different. Get the right ones in the right place. (SEE PHOTO)
Job should take about 15 minutes if done properly
