Might be selling soon, put back to stock or sell as is?

Hey guys, the time might be coming where I need to sell.:cry2: Just a couple questions. My runner has 178K miles on her, shes a 5 speed and runs great. Should I go ahead and put her back to stock form and sell my mods separately, or try to sell her as is. I dont really know what to ask, im know im going to lose BIG either way I do it. Any ideas or suggestions here? Thanks in advance!

If you can put it back to stock where it looks like it was never modified, I would restore it. If not, sell it as a package. You'll take a bigger loss if it looks like someone stripped it out and didn't do a good job of it. You may get a member here to buy it with all the mods in place. We know what it costs to do the work and appreciate the value.

What sucks is, since just January when I started modding her, ive already added over 5000.00 worth of extras! It sure adds up quick! I dont even know what I should ask for it? I know what it books for, but how do you figure in the extras?

You will never get close to what you put into it unless you find some poor sap thats willing to spend the extra cash. I had over $10000 worth of mods in my 93 Eagle Talon when I decided to sell it. I was only going to get about $3-4k for the entire car. So I parted it out the entire car and sold the body to a junk yard for $200. I ended up getting about $5k after parting out. But it was way to much work, pulling all the parts and selling them individually was a PITA. I should have just sold it all together.

I wouldn't be so quick to part it out. New tires, bumpers, etc, all that sh*t adds up. (I've "freshened up a 4Runner or two in my time. LOL)

Plus, your in CO, where 4Runners seem to be worth their weight in gold. Add to that a 5 speed with good mods, you'll take a hit but might not be as bad as you think.

I feel like in CO there more of a market for a 4runner with the mods you have than there is here in the east. Sorry to hear you have to sell it.

I agree with KHoffRunner. I think in Co you'd be able to sell it for a good price. Here in Utah you'd be able to get a good price for it.

I have a mechanic buddy looking for a Runner right now. He prefers to do everything himself and has the tools for the job, but a truck like yours that's already modded out might be too good a deal to pass up. I'll call him and let him know. I'll follow this thread and if you decide to sell as is, I'll send him a link.
