Mild offroading between Athens and ATL area

Looking for a place in that area to take my girlfriend and show her the outdoors in the Athens, Ga and ATL area. She has an adventurous spirit but been a city girl most of her life. It will be during the week either next Tuesday or Wednesday. Any suggestions? I have 285s with no lift so I will be limited to the mild stuff. GPS coordinates or whatever info you have will work. Thanks for any leads in advance. :cheers:

errmm..between athens and atl...not too much man. I know there is the Oconee national forest just south of athens. but your not going to find a whole lot of wheelin spots close to ATL. There is lake lanier a lil north west of you, and that MIGHT have some spots, but it would be more of a scenery type thing. All the good wheeling spots are like farrrr north. from where im at its still a 2 hour drive to get to the nearest wheeling spot

btw u live in athens? student or no?

Between Athens and Milledgeville there is a place called river rock I don't know if it has some mild trails but it is an offroad park. Another thing would be to check the GA forestry website for fire roads. I took my completely stock 98 2wd on some when I was working with the scouts near Dahlonaga more specific Frank D Merril Ranger camp. It was a nice scenic drive but a little further than you were thinking.

I'm not a student there but my girlfriend is at UGA. Scenic would probably be better as she would be more into driving on dirt roads in the woods, driving near a lake, etc....

About an hour W. of Atlanta is Chocoloco Mtn. in Alabama. I've wheeled there several times. It has mild to extremely wild trails. Nice scenery too.
Mostly they are open only on weekends, but I'm sure if you sent Trey an email or called him you could work something out. He is a seriously cool guy and has always treated our group very well.
