Lets begin with the purchase of my 4Runner in July 2013. I bought it with 118k miles on it. Its a shame I don't have a picture from the day I bought it.

Stepped up to 285/75/16 the other day and the ride is great. Plus a bit taller.

Taking my first steps into the world of LEDs. It is way brighter than I expected, but I like the way they turned out. I was sick of ugly yellowish look.

Where did you get the leds looks a lot brighter than the ones I have. I think mine where from superbright. Not that happy with them their colors didnt even match.

The Trip

Since owning this 4Runner for two years it had not really been on any road trips more than a couple of hours so I was very excited to take it on its first true road trip. I was going from Denver to Northeren Illinois and round trip my odometer said 1730 miles. On the way there my hood scope came flying out of the mounts and would not bolt back in so then I had no scope at all. Around Omaha Nebraska I rolled over 140,000 so that put a smile on my face :bounce: . We got to Illinois and it ran great while it was there. It drove perfect all the way home until about right outside of Colorado, my right rear brake started smoking. I just got off the phone with the mechanic and the rear bearing is broken so :faint: . Ice had found its way around the CV axle and my drive shaft was rubbing up against my gas tank skid. All of this happened with in a couple of miles of each other :wtf: . So we pulled of to the side of the road and did a quick expection of the car and tinkered a bit and made it reasonable to drive on the road all the way home. The brakes set of some sensor though, the ABS, VSC, and BRAKE lights all came on, so I may have fried that part. :frusty:

Three days of learning what I think I wish I had done with my life. I have finally finished the full length roof rack using just my old roof rack and cutting and placing in different areas. It is ten times stronger now that all of it is welded at all the joints.

Great looking truck. I have had mine for right at a year and ahven't driven over two hours away. I am headed a little over 7 hours away next month, so I am kind of excited and holding my breath a little. But I have checked this thing from top to bottom. I am pretty confident in the old girl.

Once again, nice rig. (You know black 4runners came from the factory with more horsepower right?

I'm in the southern suburbs of Denver in the Parker area. If you ever want to go wheeling shoot me a PM. It would be nice to get to know some other 4Runner owners that want to go off roading.


So i started building a temporary bumper because Me friend and I are following a welding career so we got some free steel from out work and started out just building a little fun project. However it turned out a ton nicer than expected. Our welds were strong and penetrated the metal smoothly so we decided to make it functional and we just finished it today.

Had to put a pause on my rear bumper build. Will finish it when I can get back to work on it.

Nice! How much welding/fabrication experience does it take to build on of there?

My rear looks so empty with the CBI front bumper and I don't wana throw away 1500$ on a rear!

Well I can't really say. I have just started welding this year in January. But I have a buddy who is in welding school and has been teaching me through the months. I only started it because I felt very comfortable with my ability. It depends on how confident you are.

Confidence is through the roof here:flamethrwoer2: that's not the issue. Skill is non-existent but I can probably score a welder.

That's exactly what went through my head. If you don't like scrap it and try again practice practice practice.

Haven't been on in a while but just a few pictures from the past coupe trips. also upgraded to some OME 861 rear coils. A much needed upgrade. Added some driving lights as well.

Started building a bumper again but this time it more of a challenge. I got a free arb bumper that had been in a wreck from a local guy and just have been piecing it together one little bit at a time.

Hey man sweet rig. Just had a few questions. are your upper control arms stock? and have you had any problems with them? how do the cv's hold up with the diff?
im looking to do the same set up on my Runner too. thanks!
