Today we finally hit 100K

I didnt notice it till about 9 miles after haha but yea it was bought brand new in 2002 and we hit 100k today in 2008 Still running strong

Damn right. Lots of people look down on the 4runner industry especially the 3rd gen. All you gotta do is sit back and laugh when their Chevy breaks down every 10'000 miles

Yeah about that last comment. Lol. Our 2003 or 2004 Suburban has somewhere around 85,000 miles on it and it has not had a single problem (knock on wood).

Congratulations! But 100,000 miles is just broken in.

My '90 SR5 had 205,000 miles when I sold it in 2002. My friend had over 350,000 on it the last time we spoke.

My '00 SR5 (bought in '02 with 16,000 miles on it) has 152,000 miles and still running strong as my main tow vehicle.

Other Toyotas:
'81 Celica sold with 178,000 miles in showroom condition
'88 Camry sold with 215,000 miles
'97 Camry my youngest son is still driving it @ over 150,000 miles

Yeah you have just started to break it in. I have 186K on my 99 4Runner and I had 350K on my 93 Celica GT I sold last year.

I'm at 145k on my '99 and the only thing that has been an issue was rear axle seals which is pretty much routine maintenance over 100k on most 3rd gens otherwise it's just been fluids and brakes and the TB/water pump change at 138k.

Hey my friends mom has like 250,000 miles on her 01 3/4 ton subarban and the only problem she has had was she got rear ended and it bent the frame but the dealership replaced the whole frame and it was out of her pocket. But i only got 93,500 on my 99 runner.

Yeah, for my own personal reasons I'm going to buy American for my next car, they are almost as good as Toyotas and a hell of a lot better than they were 20 years ago. Its like the saying, it takes a long time to gain someones trust, but it can be lost very easily. Very true with the American auto industry.

My 2000 4cyl runner has 187,000 miles on it and it still runs like new. I just had the ECT power light burn out, but it still shifts later like it should. I have only had to replaced the struts and the ignition cylinder. So I probably won't be buying another car for a while.

thought id spill an opinion here, im a manager for a rental car company and i get to drive all kinds of cars. Ford amazingly has done a lot better. both ford and chevy feel pretty dang good brand new however after a while you will start hearing those rattles and whines and things start to get loose. Of corse i know what people do to rentals and all and Im not hatin on those cars at all its just the american (domestic) auto makers biggest market are rental agencies, government, and other bulk companies. so basicly there trying to knock out as many cars as possible to sell not really putting it together in a quality manner. dont get me wrong some of those new chev trucks are pretty sick and you cant beat the warrenty, warrinty or however its spelled! and you can get a great deal on a brand new one. Honda and Toyota are more expensive but you can feel the quality longer ( i think) we have a few toyotas and hondas in our fleet and they all feel solid still! again im not hatin on domestic cars this is just what i have experienced. sorry if i offend anyone!! much luv!!
