Milkshaked - need advise

Are you sure it's coming from the trans and not the engine compartment? You were low on coolant so it must be going somewhere. Any signs of leaking on the front of the engine around the water pump?

To me the sound is coming from the bottom around the front of the transmission. As it is tied with engine speed I'm wondering if it's between the engine and trans

Coupled with the shift hesitation I've drawn the conclusion it's something with the trans

I think the radiator might actually be leaking itself as a separate issue

Definitely get a second opinion on whether it has a 'true milkshake' condition.
$400 is a bit high for the OEM radiator. Save at least $100 on an OEM by using one of the web dealers.
Radiator is very easy and simple to replace.

Based on the pictures you posted, I would say that your truck does not have the milkshake I am sure of that.

I would work on figuring out that wine, I also believe that it isn't the transmission, change the fluid (all 16 quarts) to see about the shift hesitation.

Is your radiator visibly newer than the surrounding things? That would be a sure sign of past 'milkshake'

That wine sounds bad, but could be any number of things related to the engine. Start by disconnecting your accessory drive belts 1 by 1, see if it goes away. Obviously don't run the car long with them un-hooked. That or get a mechanics stethoscope and start poking around to isolate the noise.

Thank you! Right now I am planning on doing the external transmission cooler.

Does it harm the engine if there is some transmission fluid in the coolant and I leave it for a while?

Yes, the radiator appears to be Aftermarket.

By 'sounds bad' do you mean 'sounds expensive"?
