Miller's 4Runner has FINALLY resurfaced!

After something like 3 years off the grid, there has finally been a sighting of [MENTION=8329]MillerPKA[/MENTION] 's Legendary 4Runner! by me!

For those of you newer guys unfamilier with it, about 3 years ago Miller sold his awesome 4runner when he was living in georgia or something and shipped it out to its new owner in Rio Rancho, NM.

It had since dissappeared off of the forums. There were rumors that the new owner was having transmissoin/transfer case issues and the truck was in dis-repair.



Well I am proud to report that it has a new owner as of a few days ago! A shop just down the road from me owned by a cool dude named Micah, who has been a 4runner resource for me for years, purchased it.

He has it all back up and running and he says it is the best 3rd gen he has ever owned in every way, and he has owned quite a few (many of which were quite modded).

His report was that the initial problem was the transfer case was stuck in 4HI and the old owner didnt know what to do so he replaced the transmission with a junkyard one. That didnt fix it. So he let it sit for almost 2 years until selling it. After Micah bought it he drained the transmission to find... WATER! That's right the transmission was filled with water. He went on to drain the transfer case and found.. NOTHING! That's right the transfer case had been run dry for 2 years which was why it was stuck in 4Hi.

Well a few new quarts of various lubricating fluids and that 4runner was back on the road.

Hate to be the bearer of Bad/Good news, but its in a better place now. This morning was actually the first time I had seen it in person so I was stoked to say the least.

I remember when I first got my 4Runner, I wanted to go through Google and find lifted/modified 4Runners to give me that extra kick of motivation. Well, I stumbled across:

I thought that thing was immaculate. Then I went through his build thread and noticed ALL of the mods he had done. And then I heard it was for sale. I have always liked Millers truck. He tastefully did many things to it.

It almost shocks me that someone would buy a nice vehicle like that, expecting not to have to maintain it.
I just want to go kick that guy in his lady parts and then drag him around town on my tow hitch, to set an example of course.
That guy needs to understand that a transmission/t-case is like a sprinkler; no fluid, no good.

MillerPKA, that's the 4Runner that got me into them. I use to go back and look at your thread all the time back when I bought my first one. 7 4R's later, I'm still at it. LOL

It was a motivation to say the least. Wanted my last black one to look similar to his. Beautiful Rig! Glad someone whom can take care of it and respect it owns it now

Its funny that others are saying the same thing, cause this is the first 4runner I saw modded after buying mine. I dont remember if I saw it on google or this forum first. But I remember thinking, holy crap, I never knew a 4Runner could look like that. I want mine to look like that!

Although Miller's rig wasn't the first modded 4Runner I had seen.... it is the truck that reminds me, that selling it, is never a good decision!! Sorry dude.... just know how much you miss this truck.... and I've learned a lesson from you, in that I will never sell mine.

I was just thinking about Miller's rig the other day as I stumbled through a video on my computer of him going through a deep mud hole. This is on my top list of runners and an example of how I want mine to look someday. Soooo glad to see it's still alive!

What all colors did you paint it? I just figured it was OEM 202 black

Mostly just variants of black; rocker panels, under carriage, door jams, miscellaneous parts like wheels, grilles, roof racks etc... Worse idea was when Weston decided to do the army tan scheme. Lasted about a month before we painted it back to black.

Any idea how much thw current owner paid for it? Or the current mileage?

I do not know. Probably didn't pay much if it wasn't running and sat for 2 years.

I'm pretty sure this was the first heavily modded 4runner I saw in person and from then on, I knew I wanted a 4runner. I used to see it in the Cobb area of GA on my way to play baseball. Quite the inspiring rig. Glad to see it's now back in good hands.
