Pa.. 500k. Either he drove a pile of miles or he didn't drive it in the salt to last that long here. The salt eats them up before 300k here unless steps are taken to prevent that from happening. Kudos to making 500k on Yoda here in the rust belt.

In that case, I am at 271K on Tetanus 1. If I count up all the odemeters in all the Toyotas I currently own I am way over 1 million.
Heck I am close if I add up the 5 4 runners I currently own.
If i count up all the Toyotas I ever owned odometers I probably be closer to 2 million miles. (naturally I didn't drive all this miles)
The highest on the forum that I know of is a fellow in CA with over 720K 5 clutches and a head redo. It was a 1996 I believe.

At 280,000 miles my drivers side real LCA broke off the frame. It matches all the other 4Runners I found in the local pick and pulls.
In my area when you fine a 3rd Gen in the junkyard it’s a heap with over 250k miles and a rusted frame, or a blown engine. I’ve never seen anything newer than a 97.

Unless your crazy like me and rebulld the frames. You are correct though mostly 200k to 250k the frames are rotting out in this state.

Check out the Million Mile Tundra(s) - they are out there. The one I recently read about was a 2007, too!

WOW! I'd like to see that vehicle that hits a mil... Mine will roll over on 430k probably within the next two weeks or so - 2001 SR5 original engine and tranny.
But think about how much you saved in new car payments, taxes and insurance by keeping it that long!

Same company has two early 2nd gen 4.7 V8 Tundras that hit 1 mil.
Toyota bought the first one back and dissected it to document and learn from the reliability.
The bed was dented and scratched up from fork lifts and payload, but everything else was working well.
The trans was replaced, but after the fact they claimed it really didnt need to be with a proper service.
Pretty amazing actually. I believe this is one reason (besides emissions) the gov has made it so difficult for Toyota to sell their Diesels in the states.

I agree Toyota should be able sell diesels. Consumers should have choices and more options like manuals.
I am curious though the lifespan of auto the transmissions. When they have regular maintenance.

I think the 2nd Tundra's trans did fine.
I would say an initial fluid exchange at 100k miles and every 50k to 75k miles would be plenty. Maybe a filter every 250k.
And of course not letting someone like me drive it, because I beat the crap outta all my vehicles.

I am guessing that the million mile club has to be 3rd gen with 1 million miles on the odometer. With all the toyotas I am way over a million miles but Probably only driven around 750K miles on Toyotas over the last 30 years.
That doesn't count though...Good to see some Tundras made it to 1 million miles..
