Mini Bulbs Behind Dash - Avalon

I know this is a 4runner forum but I need some help with a 1996 Avalon. None of the buttons light up behind the AC panel so at night it makes it a nightmare for my girlfriend to change the heater or AC. I check the fuse, assuming it's the fuse that corresponds to "panel" in the fuse box, and it looks fine. Do you think all of the bulbs could just be out? I pulled them out and they're so small that it's hard to tell if they are bad or not. Could something else be wrong with the lights? Thanks.

I'm guessing there are only about 2 or 3 bulbs in that HVAC unit to provide the night-time illumination for all the buttons. It is very possible that they are all burnt out. I think they run about $3 or so apiece at the dealership.

I had to replace many dash bulbs in my 1997 Land Cruiser and 1996 Tacoma, so your 1996 Avalon probably needs a few changed too.

Thanks. Yeah. The dealer wants about 5.11 for each bulb at partznet. There are 3 behind the "hi/low" and "defrost" buttons and 2 more behind the inside/outside air buttons to the right of the head unit.
