Minimum jack height?

I've been searching and can't find the answer to this question. For a 3rd gen at stock height (maybe a little higher since I have larger tires) what would be the minimum lift height I would need on a jack in order to get it in the air on stands so I could change tires, oil, etc? Thanks!

I use a regular old craftsman floor jack. Plenty enough to get mine up on stands with 36" tires and still low enough to get under my tundra and wife's Camry and sequoia.

I have a '99 with the tallest stock springs on a 3G 4Runner with the stock size 265-70/R16 tires. I use this relatively cheap jack which has a 21'' max. height. It does everything I have needed, including lifting it on to 6-ton stands so I could roll the whole tranny/T-case assembly out from underneath when I did my clutch.

Umm... however high your axle is from the ground? You should be lifting from there in the first place so you're not doing more jacking than you have to.

Yes, lift via rear diff housing and the front place denoted by the circle hole thing in the skid plate. Then put jack stands under the frame or rear axle.
