mirror defrost not working

the rear view mirror heater has recently decided to stop working, and its not good, since we still have freezing weather + massive amounts of dew

it is only the driver side which doesnt work. the back window and passenger mirror defrosters work fine.

is there an easy way to see whats up or simple diagnostic ideas?

I've been wishing mine did. Shit, that means it's possible. The damn mod list just gets longer and longer!
