Mirrors affected by Engine Size?? Seriously?

I'm searching all around for a white replacement passenger side mirror for a 98 v6. Every salvage place I speak with is telling me there is a difference between a passenger side mirror on a 98 v6 and a 98 v4. They can't tell me what the difference is, but they insist there is a difference.

Maybe they're right, but if anyone knows anything about this, please share.

ALSO...
WTB - Front bumper for 98 4Runner SR5; Passenger side mirror - pure white (not pearl... bummer). Make an offer, I need the parts.

Any info is appreciated.

There isn't a difference in style of the mirror itself. The thing is that V6's came with painted mirrors and 4 cylinders came with black mirrors.

Basically, in a nutshell, Anything 1996-1998 has the same mirror, obviously other than the color. In 1999, all V6 (color coded) mirrors got heating. The black ones for the 2.7 did not. Then, in 2000, the 4Runner got a new side mirror style. It's just a little more sleek.

1996-1999 style mirror:

2000-2002 style mirror (same exact style mirror as Tacoma 01-04):
