Hi, I hope you'll forgive a question with a perhaps obvious answer: I recently replaced the corroded alloy rims on 97 4runner with a used set I found online. I had my tires mounted and balanced on the new rims. The lug nuts that came with my vehicle seat on the washer on all six bolts on two of the rims. The other two rims , the nuts seat on the tapered / chamfered section and not on the washer...is this the difference between a SHANKED STYLE LUG NUT, AN ACORN STYLE LUG NUT A TAPERED STYLE LUG NUT? safe/ normal ? any help?
