Missed a great buy

1998 Landcruiser all service records looks new and has 130K miles. Sold for $14,500. I would of bought it as a extra vehicle for the wife when she needed it in the winter when she couldn't drive the 350Z. I'm still looking . The great thing about these LC's is that they are good for 300K+ miles with very, very, few problems. So I figure a good used one with around 100K miles is still new compared to other vehicles on the road, as long as you buy the right.

If I had the opportunity to get a 100, I would get the one with the traction control and then add ARB lockers. Then you have the best of both world, especially if you need to tackle snow/ice and mud. Lockers can land you in a bad spot sometimes where traction control tends to be more manageable. But then you have the best of both worlds

If I can find another one I will buy it even if it doesn't have the lockers. They didn't start adding traction control until 2000 and they run more than $25K. I want one for $14-16K with around 100K miles on it, it would be nice to find one with 100-120K miles that had the timing belt done, other wise one with 90K and figure another $1000-1500 for the belt/water pump and all new fluids, belts and hoses and your good to go. It would make a good vehicle for 6-8K miles of driving per year when the little woman couldn't drive her 350Z.
