Just curious, wouldn't the 4th gen's Torsen center diff have no issue with unmatched front vs. rear axle speed (unless in locked mode of course)? In open mode, it's not like it has any clutch pack or viscous system that would wear out or cook in this situation.

Never mix tires on AWD
Mixing tires on an AWD vehicle can cost you big time down the road due to premature wear on drivetrain components. It doesn't take much and even if you don't feel any binding or hear noises it will cause problems later on. Rule of thumb is nothing more than 2-3/32 difference on all tires must be the same brand too coz not all sizes are created equal. Just for example trying putting on a brand new running shoes on one foot and a worn out shoe on the other foot then try running a full 26.2 marathon and you will know how your drivetrain feels.

Truth is it will probably be fine short term, but I wouldn't do it as a long term solution. It won't activate the Torsen diff right off the bat; but the Torsen diff, ABS, and ATRAC systems all activate at ~3-5% wheel slip. If your front and rear tires already have a 1% rotational mismatch (which they would at those tire sizes) you'll be closer to that threshold and those systems will activate unnecessarily and unexpectedly. Even if it doesn't damage anything it will probably annoy the crap out of you when your in a parking lot with tight steering angles and ATRAC keeps shaking the brake pedal and beeping at you.:frusty:
