MOAB Trail Book

My wife and I are planning a MOAB trip in the coming weeks. Does anyone have a good trail book that they recommend?

I have a '13 Limited with 2.5" lift and 33" on it, so I do not want to get into any trouble.

We are from Colorado and have an excellent book for the Front Range that has yet to get us in over our heads.

Another +1 for the Wells book, probably the same author as your book for the front range. Also check TrailDamage, they have many more trails, and I like their rating system much better than Wells's. There's a huge difference between a Traildamage 4 rated trail and a 10, but Well's calls them both difficult.

Your main limiting factor (other than maybe fear), will be approach and departure angles. When you arrive, go east a few blocks to 4th st, then take Mill Creek and stay left at the fork to go on to Sand Flats. Pay the person at the gate, continue past Hell's Revenge entrance, and as you round the next corner, make a left, and you will be at Baby Lion's Back. This is just a single, easy fin that will let you know what you are in for.

I would also recommend a GPS with topo maps (Backcountry navigator for Android works well), and download area topo maps along with the GPS waypoint files from Wells's site and/or TrailDamage. Besides the most popular trails that are littered with signs and painted emblems, route finding can often be very difficult.

Might want to wait for a 4th edition. The BLM just permanently closed about 1/3 of the Moab area trails.

Oh no, apparently we'll have to wait. I just finished all my college exams and am currently planning a trip to MOAB, so I wanted to order this book already. It's a shame that it's becoming irrelevant for now. I had an idea to write an essay about my adventure, but I'll probably have to ask https://edubirdie.com/essay-writers-for-hire to come up with something for me for now. I hope the next edition will come out soon and I will still be able to go.
