Moab Trip Summer 2016?

Fellow 4Runner Owners,

I just got back from my fourth Moab trip. Unfortunately, all of my trips have been solo, so I haven't been able to do the trails that make 4Runners known for what they should be known for. I'm in Albuquerque, NM, but it doesn't really matter where the others are. I was thinking of planning a Moab trip in the summer of 2016 (May or June) with a group of 4Runner owners. Is anyone interested? You can contact me directly at [email protected]. Thanks!

I just got back from a Moab trip in my 89 4runner. I was solo too so i had to be "reasonable" haha.

I live in TN now but will be moving to salt lake in the next month or two.

I will be in touch come summer!

Randyosb K9 roof rack, tepui roof top tent, about $3k in rigid lights, a Cbi bumper,a few pelican cases, new sleeping bags, pads, camp kitchen stuff and a few other things. ---at least that's how I sold it to my wife ;)

what gear is required for that trip?

Nothing beyond a moderately capable stock 4WD is required for most of the trails in the Moab area - some of the best trails don't even require 4WD at all, in fact. For the harder trails, big tires and body armor are strongly recommended, for the hardest you'll need at least one diff locker and a winch.

Don't let lack of gear stop you from exploring the red rock. What bling you have bolted to your truck is entirely secondary.

Last time I have being there in Aug 2014. Might be able to go in June, if my Wife's schedule allows. We always trying to go together. Will let you know when time is closer...

Count me in. Moab is amazing. Been wanting to go to New Mexico as well after following New Mexico Backroads on Instagram.

I'm interested! I am new to off-roading (on four wheels anyway) other than mud/farm land, not much experience with rock. I was supposed to be in CO for a rock climbing trip this Memorial day weekend but after recently breaking my collarbone (two wheels are faster...but more dangerous), I can't climb. My buddies and I are instead thinking of hauling the dirt bikes out and they will ride while I take my new runner out and do some exploring. My biggest issue is I've never done it before and have no idea what she's capable of (and don't want the be the dick who get's stuck on the trail)!!

What are some good trails for a semi-stock runner? I've looked all over traildamage but have no idea what the difference between a 2 and 6 is.

I'm looking mostly to get out and explore. I also love to shoot photography and want to do that while I'm out on the trails.
