Mod spare tire holder for 255/85/r16?

Hey, has anyone gotten a 255/85/r16 to fit in their spare tire holder after modifying it? If so what'd it entail? I saw a thread over on expedition portal that made me think it's possible but haven't seen any confirmation.

I'm going to use mine for more overland and less rock crawling so the clearance loss may be worth not having it on the roof or dedicated tire carrier (at least until I save up some more).

I've done it.

Documented with a few pics in my build thread but I'm definitely not the first. I've seen it in other threads as well.

I have a Savage Off-road Rear Bumper and that definitely helps it fit. I don't know if it would work with a stock rear bumper.

Even with the aftermarket rear bumper, in order to make it fit you have to deflate the tire completely and then you kick it into place. Works great. Inflate it before mounting it on the truck.
