Impressive for sure.
I'll be interested when they get better range, some better reliability, cheaper price, and can make one that out performs a lifted V8 4Runner on 35's in the woods and is easy to fix if something does happen. Until then, it'll be a great pod car once Tesla gets auto-driving worked out.

Couple folks in my family have a Model S. Very cool car, but the range still scares me.
The super chargers are pretty slick... we drove from Seattle to Portland, stopped and had a 30 minute or so lunch at Subway while charging, and then continued to Seaside with plenty of juice left. I thought it would be much more complex of a trip, planning multiple stops at charging stations, etc. Not the case. I didn't realize that you can get something like 80% charge in 30 minutes. The rest of the 75 minute charge time is just to get it up to 100%.
My cousin just took ownership of a P100D Model X and it's as fast as it is expensive. For him (wealthy, nearly 200 mile commute every couple days) it makes a bit of sense. It's still stupid expensive for me. Maybe one day. Every time I put $80+ in the tank I cringe a bit. I'll need to cringe about 1500 more times before I approach the price of a Model X =p
