Modfied air intake- How do I tell what filter replacement I need?

The guy I bought it from had a non-stock air filter on there. I popped it off and I don't see a model number anywhere. Are they reusable if you wash them out? It seems pretty sturdy.

Edit- Do the top and bottom rubber pieces pop off?

You could just go to vatozone and buy another cone filter which has the same pipe diameter. Best guess is 20$, they are just generic filters I suppose you could wash it out but make sure its 100% dry before reinstallation.

I would just wash the filter, let it dry and reinstall... or find a stock airbox used on the cheap (better idea IMO).

That one is a washable/reusable filter. Not all cone filters are.

Personally I don't like them. They allow too much dirt through by relying on the oil to catch particles instead of the filter media.

Should I use soap or just rinse it out with water?

Dumb question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. I just loosened the clamp and slid it off when I removed it, and then put it back on the same way. Is that the correct way to do it? Or are there some things I should be careful of when replacing such a filter? Also, I looked at some filters on Amazon and they were talking about "filter oil"? Is this just for sliding it on the pipe?

reusable filters require washing and oiling
the oil is what catches the dirt
the problem can be with over oiling, as that will send oil particles down the intake, to the MAF and contaminate it, and thus causing issues at the maf

my truck came with a K&N filter ( you wash and oil those too), it had running issues, I replaced the K&N with a stock filter, cleaned out the air box and intake tubes, seafoamed the intake, cleaned the maf and throttle body and got rid of some of my issues
the rest of my issues were cleaning the icv, and adjusting all the cables

anyone want a k&n filter to fit the stock housing ( rectangular) $10 plus shipping

Also I'd suggest you YOUTUBE how to recharge a K&N filter. Be sure that you do not spray the OIL on inside of the cone, just the outside.

Not knowing the history of that filter or what it is I would probably buy another brand.
