Modifying Tacoma Skid Plate Brackets

Guys, I got the Tacoma skid plate and I need to modify the brackets. I looked under the front and there's a bracket of some sort in the way if I just extend the Tacome bracket with a piece of flat iron. Do you guys cut a U-shape in the extended part to clear?

Also, does any offer their services to extend these brackets? I haven't found the time to get this done.

You want to make the plate hug your front bumper right? It's simple,just get a shop to cut you a couple of rectangle pieces that are about 3"x2" (I'll get exact measurements from mine) and cut corresponding holes and get 2 pair of nuts and bolts and you'll be good to go. There is the part you remove and won't use since the Tacoma bracket replaces the old tow loop.
It's beena while since I did this so forgive me If I'm a bit foggy on the tow loop part.

Oh WOW! I didn't even think to do it like that. I was going off another set of pictures of the Tacoma bracket cut and extended.
