Found this for an Xterra but no dice for the 4Runner.

Rear Window Molle Cover place

It looks like a few guys rigged something up on older gens but I didn't think it looked very clean. Any ideas on a place to buy or a way to make something of the sorts?

Should be able to have someone draft it and cut it out of aluminum or stainless on a CNC waterjet/router/laser cutter. I bet you'd be at least $500 deep doing it though.

Also not trolling, just jealous and wishing I could have MY million dollar accessory idea that somehow appeals to the masses, haha.
 
A wild ride on a bumpy trail and a load of misc crap in the back. Just what these toys are built for. And it's even better if none of your rear windows are broken.

These new Molle mounting plates are built to help you organize all your gear. The Molle window plate is designed to hook onto the stock garment hook and also mounts to the plastic rear storage cover. All the weight of the packs will be held by the factory hook. Right now I have have some every day carry items in two totes in my trunk. I'd like to get the smaller items up out of the way for either things like every day groceries or larger items when I go out on a trail or camp in the back.

I think I might go this route as I can to it at material cost.

This was my first thought. I cant put it on the back seat becuase I frequently fold them down. If I put them on the front, I need to determine how much usable panel space I lose for the same reason.

I've never used the far back side windows for visibility. Really the idea is to move shit off to the side so that its not stacked as high and I can still use the rear window.
 
Perhaps we will have them at some point. I just installed two in my FZJ80 and I can tell you they are for sure BA! I've talked to the fabricator about the potential for the 4Runners...

I did a molle panel on my back door of the my FJ.





its easy to hold things for the trail or basic car stuff. Jumper cables, cleaning stuff, baby stuff. Anything.
