Been a while I visited the forums...

Well, any thoughts on this? (See above).

It will only work with dock-connector iPods. I looked up the 4th gen 4Runner in the configurator, it says that it will work only on 4Runners that do not have the factory DVD and/or navigation (should work on all older 4Runners, though).

Fortunately mine doesn't have the DVD or navigation, so it might be no problem.

The difference between iCruze and having an RCA-plug only setup is that through iCruze, you can actually manipulate the iPod using the factory radio/steering wheel controls. It might work for those like me who have the 10-speaker JBL system (w/the in-dash 6-disc CD changer).

The iCruze is not compatible with those who have Alpine head units connected through an AI-net bus. (Alpine sells a similar unit for those).

this could be a nice alternative to the Ice:Link...but doing some research, i found out that you can't control the iPod once its linked to the iCruze. you have to control the ipod via HU or steering wheel controls and only through playlists. don't know if i like that.

what do you guys think?

yeah, I noticed that too. I'm looking to do one of these options in the future. Granted, there are safety reasons associated with controlling the iPod once connected, as stated on the iCruze website, but that doesn't really bother me. I'd probably prefer control from the HU anyways, though some control from the iPod as well could be nice.

what I read on their website vs. the ice-link website, is that with the ice-link plus, as long as the deck supports cd-text, it'll show on the deck, whereforeas, with the iCruze, it wouldn't..

Will I be able to see the Song Titles, Artist Information, or Play List info on my factory radio?
NO. Unfortunately the limitations of most factory car stereos do Not allow text to be displayed beyond just Disc and Track numbers. The iCruze optional auxiliary display will be available soon to display Song Title and Artist Information in a convenient, easy-to-read, dash-mountable display.

That's quoted from their support FAQs, so I'm taking this to mean, even if the deck supports it, it wouldn't show..? And I'd prefer not to install an external LCD monitor for such purpose..

Now if there is some great quality difference..

although monster has quality products i think the icelink is the way to go for me. but then again, if the icruze comes out sooner, then i might just be tempted to get one.
