Montreal accident survivor interview

Saw this on the news. They are interviewing the survivor after his release from hospital. He was rear ended and squashed between 2 semi's.

That's why people need to pay attention & stop speeding. Life isn't a race.

I have a buddy, which is a first-time father now. He would always find Semis or larger trucks to cut off when he's in a traffic jam, because he knows those vehicles don't accelerate as quickly.

But he doesn't realize that they are also heavier at the time, so it takes them longer to brake.

Better let him know, CHP is actively cranking down on drivers who drive wrecklessly around and cut off semi's.

This is a freaking joke, HP units should crack down on semis for reckless driving. Just because they have a large truck that can wipe anything off the road, doesn't make them god. I have personally seen them cut people off, tailgate, ride along with their buddy 18-wheeler(1 in the fast lane one in the slow lane on a 2 lane highway) blocking both lanes, and they want help from the HP??!

I know there are some bad drivers out there but come on, really?

Not kidding, it is what it is.

As with any group, there are always bad apples. But in example K.C. pointed out of intentionally cutting off a semi, please explain not cracking down on drivers with that type of behavior.

Personally, I would not mess around with a vehicle that's easily 10x's the weight of a 4Runner, if not more. Additionally, it's not just myself and my property in danger out on the highway, but others who are in my vehicle have their life in my hands. Maybe for me everything upstairs is intact unlike K.C.'s buddy. The way I see it is, if that semi has to slam its brakes, it'll most likely jack knife his rig. And in cases of intentionally cutting off a semi, the truck driver should not risk his rig and the potention of a chain reaction accident and DO plow the offending vehicle. That's just my take.

BTW, CHP do actively cite semi's as well, I've seen the same percentage (equal ratio of semi's to cars) of them pulled over on the highway too. IMO, I don't believe there is a bias from CHP.

I'm not in law enforcement, nor is anyone in my family. (Not being bias.)

I agree there are horrible drivers are pissed at the world from the moment they open their eyes in the morning. The problem is that some of those people drive trucks 10X's the size of our 4runners and some of them drive corollas. Guess which pissed off person im worried about. I understand what your saying. I guess Ive just never seen a semi pulled in NC period and it bothers me because i am a responsible driver and get flack from semis all the time.

Bad drivers drive everything, from Smarts to 18 wheelers. People are always in the hurry, some have no imagination and lack the skills to operate a vehicle, not to mention the common courtesy on the road.
