More 4R Options Available!

I checked Toyota's site and there are more 4R 'options' available! Well.... maybe not more 'goodies' but more packages on-line.

When I was looking back in November up until about a couple weeks ago using my zip code to 'build' a 4R on the 'options' screen I only had 3 packages. I just looked now and I have a choice of 10 packages (on the SR5) from $1,274 to $5,730! They actually have a 3rd row option available to pick now too. I just find it interested that they all of a sudden have expanded their option packages. Maybe they are catching up in their production to feel comfortable enough to list all the possibilities out.

In a chat with my service manager, it seems Toyota was caught off guard by the economic downturn and drastically decreased their production... only to be swamped by cash for clunkers and left with little or no new inventory on their lot. He says they pumped out only the packages that their research showed would sell best, and then got slammed by the recall which forced them to halt production in many plants. Basically, they've had inventory problems since 2008 and are just now getting things back to "normal".

Cool on the new SR-5 options. Didn't see anything new for TR editions but they're already pretty decently equipped.

That wasn't toyota manufacturing. Here in Gulf States region we've been able to choose whatever option packages as well as individual options for a while. Except for the trail it only comes with Nav KDSS out here for some reason.
