More Issues: ABS and BRAKE! lights on. HELP!!

Yesterday the ABS and E-Brake (red BRAKE!) light came on and stayed on in my dash, along with the VSC, Slip, and TRAC lights. I had the VSC, Slip and TRAC trifecta on and off for the last two months, but havent seen in in a while, at least 3 weeks, and I just had the truck serviced (oil change, oil filter and air filter change) last week. The owners book says pull over and call Toyota immediately when the ABS and BRAKE! lights come on but the 5 lights go on and off as they wish and the truck drives fine ( and the brakes still work). I just finished a 275 mile trip and the lights came on and went off after 100 or so miles, then came back on around 175 and stayed on for a while, then went off around 250ish (all estimates but close). What the hell is the issue. The ABS and BRAKE! lights are supposedly serious issues, but it drives fine so I'm stumped. The buzzer never went off, but I got the truck used and the previous owner shut off the seatblet dingers so I do not know if all the buzzers are connected or not. It does beep for 4Lo sometimes, so I know the truck can make some noises. Please HELP!!!! I'm pissed...

first check the fuild in the res. then anything else u can think of including the gas cap. since they just serviced it, id try resetting the ecu, u can then try a 0 point calibration, u can get the codes read at autozone. if it continues to come on after that, then take it in, it may be a slightly sticking caliper. heres link for 0 point. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/probl...ac-vsc-off-lights-zero-point-calibration.html

I re tightened gas cap today, and that seemed to shut all the lights off. I do not know if it actually worked, or if the lights are just off at this time, because the go on and off as they please. I have tried the 0 point calibration in the past using some speaker wire and the instructions provided from the forum a few months ago and it did work for a little.

A friend suggested a faulty O2 sensor in the truck, because his went on his SUV and was messing with the computer until it was replaced. could that be a logical explanation for all the different systems lights to be on?

update: all the lights came back on today, then went off during my drive. Then when I used the truck again a few hours later, they came on again. Im very confused.

Take one battery post off. Wait 15 minutes. Then put it back on. Basically you're resetting your ECU while doing this. You may have to program all of your window switches and change time on your clock. Then drive and tell us what happens.

I will try this tomorrow. I realize that the clock will go out when the battery is disconnected, but what do you mean program all my window switches? that one has me a little confused. I know when you replace a battery on any vehicle, that you have to re-set all the toys inside, clock, etc, but I've never had to fudge with windows. Thanks for the advice, just wanted to clear that up before I start unhooking things.

You need to "normalize" the windows (and moonroof) to restore the auto up/down, open/close functions. To do this, fully open the window and hold the down/open part of the switch for a second or two. Then fully close window and hold the up/close part of the switch for a second or two. Do the same for tilt and slide for the moonroof, if you have it. Now test the window (and moonroof) for the auto up/down, open/close functionality.
