More MAF troubles

So when I first bought my 99 in December, I bought it knowing that the engine was running horribly because of the maf and I got a good deal on the truck. Soon after buying the truck I bought a new maf on ebay for 70 dollars. now almost six months later this maf is failing, and after cleaning it, it still is messed up and my car wont stay on for more than a second.

So my question is what is the best way to get a reliable maf that wont fail after six months.

When I bought my '97 in August of 2005 my MAF needed to be replaced. I ended up buying one from Oreilly's for a couple hundred buck instead of the $400+ from the dealer. It has not let me down after 110,000+ miles later.

Clean the Throttle Body, and throw a new air filter in and put a Toyota MAF sensor in the, problem should go away.
