Yeah. It’s kind of a pain, but at the same time enjoyable to mess with. Permatex is terrible.

Yes, that's a visual comparison but there are a lot of variables in headlight performance. LED lights are still not able to shrink the cross-section of the emitters down to the size of a halogen filament, which is what the housing needs in order to focus and project the light as far as possible.

The same as any other drop-in LED bulb for any model year 4Runner- like junk. They appear bright in the foreground and completely limit your distance vision.

I actually quite like mine. I had to adjust the beam angle up a little bit, but especially with the '20 Pro LED fogs on I have a lot of light out front.

Still a worthwhile upgrade from stock IMO, as the stock halogens are unusable to the point of potentially being unsafe.

Well, that's the surprising part. At first appearance, they actually are brighter- for about the first twenty feet in front of your truck. Then they degrade quickly, to the point that the hotspot is the same brightness as the stock halogen lights at 40 feet. They drop off quickly after that. That's the problem with these drop-in LED bulbs, they WOW you with near field brightness; but their actual usefulness as a headlight is not great. They're not projecting light as far as halogen lights do, so your ability to see obstacles in the road, coupled with your reaction time, is severely reduced.

Well, here's stock vs GTR- look at the curb where the parking spots on the right, furthest one down. Curb sure looks like it has more usable light to me, so not an issue. Also look at the crack in the road front center of the runner. GTR is parked a few feet back so more usable light again
