Yesterday I had my normal dealership install the aux tranny cooler, as well as some other minor stuff; immediately after that, we pulled on the road to drive to my parents' house in Arkansas.
Upon arriving in West Plains, my wife wanted to get a new key for the vehicle. I reasoned that we'd gotten such a good deal on the vehicle that I didn't mind paying the $8 for the key. So we went ahead and stopped by.
The mechanics told me that the vehicle I have is one of the best ones they've ever seen from that year; they actually went out to look at it. That's when one of them pointed and said "Uh...is this an oil leak?"
I said "Naah...couldn't be. Well, wait a second...I did just have an oil change." So we got down on our hands/knees and sure enough it was leaking oil.
I was nervous as heck, although I knew that the vehicle's temperature gauge was squarely in the middle - I was nervous mainly because the dealership service department was closing in about 5 minutes, and I'd be stuck there.
Without hesitation they opened one bay door and pulled in the vehicle, and took off the skid plate.
The idiots who did the oil change had used a MOTORCRAFT oil filter. It was the same size, but evidently a different thread pattern; and it had lost about 2 quarts of oil.
So they cleaned off the skid plate, the undercarriage, sprayed it all off, used 2 quarts of oil and an oil filter - and only charged me for PARTS.

That, my friends, is good service. I told them that even though they were 80 miles away I WOULD be bringing my vehicle to them in the future for anything bigger than a regular oil change.
