Mortgage Industry

hey all,
im thinking about getting into the mortgage industy, as maybe an Originator, any of you here work in this field ? got any insight ? thoughts ? give it to me stright, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

My Nephew with a high school education works in this industry and makes a 6 figure income (has for several years). He's been doing it for the last 5 years. It is high pressure and he has to make his numbers every month or he is gone. I understand a lot of your success is based on the support structure behind you getting the loans information done and processed. I would learn more about that part and be able to know before you took a job if the company has the support you will need to get the loans done quickly. Good luck.

thankx for the info. he must not have a problem with the quota, if he has been doing for for 5 years, do you know what type of hours he keeps ? i mean is it mostly business hours ? or is he doing alot of evenings and weekend work ? thankx for the reply.

He works around 50 hours a week. Monday thru Friday. He has been with several companies, where they did not have the support you need to make the big $$ so he moved on. I think you will learn alot in the first few years and may do the same. Good luck.

50 hours a week ? i dont want to work 40, lol, i have heard, if done right, they can work 30-35 hours a week, but i dont know.
