Mine in my 2000 is getting bad. Took it apart and cleaned it about 4 months ago due to noise which managed to limp it this far but it's bad now. Any idea who would have the best deal for a factory replacement? Local dealer is around $230 and I'm hoping online can produce cheaper for me. Saw alot of aftermarket but I hear complaints about them being much louder than the OEM

If you want an OEM one....try searching Google under "Toyota Wholesale Parts Online" or some combination thereof. It won't lower the price to "cheap" but if dealer list is $230, you can expect to save about 30% or around $160ish. Watch shipping charges though....they can be steep.
For the money the TYC is tempting but some reviews said it was louder than OEM running. Anyone used one to know? Plus my original has made it 200k miles so I hate to not replace with OEM.

It's easy to change if it breaks....me, I'd get the cheap TYC. If it breaks (I don't care about the noise) in short order....then spend the coin on a Toyota one. I've gone through 2 factory ones in just under 200K. I'd have bought an aftermarket, had I known one was available.

I replaced mine with a TYC. Yeah, it's a bit louder (mainly on the two highest settings) but for the price difference I can live with it - it's not that bad.

I got one from my local pick n pull a few weeks ago. They had no 4Runners but I was able to find a Lexus with the same blower motor. Rock Auto will tell you which vehicles use the same part. Here ya go:

How or where on the Rock Auto site does it filter by vehicle that use the same part? That's a GREAT feature....just haven't seen where you can use it.
In the link to the TYC blower further up in the thread....clicking on it doesn't give you the above list....so how does one get it?

How long have you had it?
Replaced mine with one off Amazon a couple of years ago. I think it was a Delco but it was a prescribed replacement. It worked okay but the lowest fan speed setting was way faster and louder than the original. I ended up trashing it and bought a used OEM unit off ebay which works great.

It's funny you bring this up because I replaced mine this weekend. I found one at a local salvage yard for $65 and installed it in the parking lot (5 mins). They told me the part is the same for all 3rd gens - 96 to 02. FYI the original is made by Denso.

Click on the "blue" number in the listing and try the other manufacturers. May not work the same on their mobil site.
