What was the most reliable model year for T4r's. I thought the 95-96 had some rough problems, then things were better after 97. I just picked up a '89 that has only a small bit of rust and 144K. Would like to have a newer one with some bells and whistles..Suggestions on the best model year??

Naturally I recommend the '99 since it was the mid gen upgrade year and got a lot of nice upgrades which are detailed here http://www.top4runners.com/ja/runhist31999.html
I've got 136k on mine and outside of normal maintenance it's had rear axle seals replaced at 100k (this is almost a maintenance mod as it's fairly common) and a throttle position sensor otherwise it performs just fine as my daily driver and the 10 trips or so I do off road a year.
I run M1 synthetic and change it every 8k and it burns about a half quart in that time and is every bit underpowered IMO as it was when brand new.
Another 30hp would be nice in the 3rd gens.
