Most rustproof sliders and rack?

Since I live by the sea AND the roads are salted, rust is a major problem (for exemple, my powder coated patio chairs bought one year ago are already badly rusted)

What would be the most rust proof sliders? N-Fab, Shrockworks or Rocky Roads?

As for roof rack, would you suggest Baja or Gobi?

I second what "reklov" said. I have the Gobi Stealth rack and love it. However I have the Rocky Road sliders which are showing signs of surface rust already ( 2 months old) and i live in the mountains. They haven't even seen snow yet. It didn't help that they arrived chipped and bolts supplied where pathetic for the weight of the product. I don't recommend the rocky road sliders one bit but that's my .02 cents!

Honestly I've read quite a lot of threads and did not find any comparison. Basically they seems to be all steel construction and PC finish. I mean, there's no alu rack or sliders?

In addition to a salt air climate and salted winter roads, rock chips will also make short work of powdercoating on rock sliders. Powdercoating will chip just like paint and if the powdercoating isn't completely continuous at welds and fastener holes, you will see rust. I don't think it matters from whom you buy your roof rack or rock sliders .. if they are fabricated from steel, you will get rust.

Contrary to popular belief, even hard anodized aluminum will corrode (at fastener holes) as will stainless steel.

Seeing as you have ready access to Canadian Tire stores, you might want to consider coating any steel trail armor with some rattle can Rockerguard. At least it's rock chip resistant. This is what I plan to do when my ShrockWorks sliders begin to rust. POR-15 is another anti-rust coating but it should be top-coated with paint.

I've had my Rocky Road Outfitters roof rack now for 7 months and my ShrockWorks sliders for 5 months; both have no rust so far. Next spring may be a different story however.
