Anyone on this forum into motogp racing? I've been a fan for a long while and have been lucky enough to watch it at Laguna Seca.

Anyway just wondering if anyone else is into it? This season has been pretty interesting already!

Thought I'd make a thread to shoot the sh*t.

I love MotoGP. I just don't have cable since I moved so I haven't been keeping up on this season. If I still lived in Indianapolis I would've been at the race today with my dad and his friend like I did for the past 3 years. I'll probably be at GP in Austin next year.
 
This is the first year I haven't been! My mom usually gets suite tickets from work, but could only get 2 this year. It's an awesome weekend.
They close off a 3 block radius downtown at the circle, and its nothing but people and bikes....cool scene. Plus in Indiana, there's no open container law!
It's been a good thing for Indy, especially since the Formula 1 series didn't work out. It's a very cool race to watch live.

Nice! Wish I could fly out to Austin. Luckily I have laguna seca only a couple hours away.

Anyone else watch nicky give 0 fu*ks and push dovi off the track?! That dudes like "F you ducati!"

And poor poor Spies. I had so much hope for him and I doubt ducati will keep him much longer. Maybe they'll wiggle out of the contract and Ben will go to AMA or something...
 
LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Moto GP racing. I'm a R1 man my self but I do love those Ducks also. Just something about the sound that pulls you in.

Went to the races almost every year in Laguna Seca. Love that crazy tight track.

My buddy used to have a 09 R1. He let me ride it and up until the point all I had ridden was 600's and 750's. Well he hops on his brothers zx10r and says hey man I want to see what it sounds like from other perspectives and also tell me what you think of it. I was cruising it at first respecting the torque and power. We come up behind a car and its straight for like 3 miles. I down shift a couple gears from like 5th to 3rd which in hindsight was not the brightest move. I down shifted and twisted the throttle like a 600cc and what I got scared te shit outta me lol, I felt the front end coming up FAST so I let off an put the front back down. Then I get all that adrenaline going and he's in front of me egging me on so I just grabbed a bunch of throttle and started watching the tach and before I knew it I looked at the speedo and it was reading like 165-170mph. I let off and when we got back to his house i told myself I must never let myself own one of these.

I understand that all to well. I was on the 118 in the LA area on night and I finally let my 04 R1 open up and OMG! It had the power commander, full Graves set up on it, slipper clutch and all. I have never went that fast ever in my life since. I look up at it @ 181 and got out of it, the bike felt like it was floating on air down the 118. It was 3am and there was no one on the road but me. I had to,lol!

I've been a GP fan since King Kenny was riding. I'd like to see Vale win another Championship before he retires, but the very talented new kids like Marquez, just might keep that from happening.

I just realized I've been riding, almost twice as long as Marquez has been alive. :ohwell:

Yeah man. Vale looks 100% on the yamaha but, and I don't want to say this, I don't think he'll win another championship in the gp class. There's just to much talent right now IMO. I sure like to watch him stick it to the new guys though ha.

Then there's stuff like this. I mean so many rookies I think get star struck by Vale. But not Marquez, at least not on the track (or off it):
