Motor ideas

I would love to have 250+ horsepower and 250+ torque but until this 22re either dies for good or gets on my last nerve after fixing it this time, I'm sticking with what I have. As of right now I am able to fix my engine for about $100.

I think it would be way cooler to have one of LC Engineerings billet, turbo 3RZs pushing 1,400 hp. 4 cylinder that destroys V8's has to be hilarious, although it probably wouldn't last all that long. Heck, even at half that HP most built V8s would still get destroyed with the power/weight ratio and all.

I just picked up a 7m look like its gona be a super easy swap only part that sucks is finding the cressida parts.

All kidding aside though, depending on what this thing looks like when I get it home, it's very possible that the 3.4 and 5 speed from it may end up in a 1st Gen and the eLocker in my '99 Sport. I've been wanting a 1st Gen for a long time, I've found a few decent candidates lately.
 
lol dont hate me all i did was find a supra that ran and drove for 600$ i didnt need it so i passed it to iroke.
btw i have a 3.4 block that needs new bearings and the heads redone that im willing to sell.
 
It's all good! One day I'll swap in a more powerful engine. I don't see it happening for a while though... I have big dreams but not a big bank account to fulfill those dreams :D

Do it! Although personally, I'd add the elocker axle to the 1st gen too... a 3.4 and a locker would make for a sick trail rig.

You need to do a detailed thread on that - I just found out that the 7m will bolt straight to a w56 if you use a w58 bellhousing, and I'm kinda leaning that way now.

I did say one thousand AND four hundred and yes, it is a damned lot of horsepower. I don't know of anyone that can afford one but I would be happy with 15 psi and 400 horses out of one (a little cheaper).


Building A Drag-Prepped 3RZ - Project NORAD Part 3 - Turbo Magazine

I quickly googled a 3rd party "review" of the billet turbo 3RZ so there would be some kind of objectivity as opposed to LC Engineering catalogs. This was written back in 2004.

I have been waiting for my 22RE and RTE to give up on me so I can start swapping a milder 3RZ in.
 
I'm new when it comes to 1st gen 4runners but personally I'm leaning towards diesel engines. I just bought my 85 4runner a few months ago and it runs good but I started to gather parts to swap an OM617 in it when the 22RE dies...maybe sooner
