motor swap

I have a 90 4 runner 4x4 5 speed v6 after burying it in a creek i locked up the motor. i came across a deal on a 94 4 runner automatic trans with the same engine that was rolled 6 times. im in the process of swapping the motors. a couple of the parts are different. the distruber throttle body and injectors is all i found so far. my question would be what would be easier and cheaper to swap these parts over. i was going to pull the ecm and the whole wiring harness out and do it that way but i didnt know whatelse was involed. or should i just swap the parts out that are different and buy all new gasket and stuff. any comments would help. tired of getting sick working out in the snow

I swaped an early 3.0 into a 94 4runner and swapped the entire intake plenum, fuel injectors, distributor, exhaust manifolds, oil cooler, all sensors and basicly all the accesories to avoid any problems. It ended up running great, but was a little time consuming. At the time those motors were very hard to come by used and very pricey. So the customer paid me accordingly for the extra labor involved for the swap.

It would probably be easier to swap the different parts from your old motor to the new motor.

But what is so different between the two that makes you think it's necessary?

the items that i have found so far is the throttle body fuel injectors and the disitbor i have not pulled either motor competly out yet there is to much snow on the ground right now

Another thing that is different is the coolant lines. If you check out the front of the motor follow the top radiator hose back to the block and steal that metal housing and buy some RTV to stick it on the new motor. I also stole my old intake manifold and put it on the new motor. A few other things is the new intake manifold has some coolant lines that are in different locations on the old motor it's pretty simple. Alot of soldering is required to change all the wiring harness connections to fit the new motor. That's about it. Forgive me if I left things out. It's been a long time.

Also your a/c compressor hookup is different just steal the top off of the old one and put it on the new motor. (4 allen screws)

4wd stuff

Is the running gear in decent shape? I need the transfer case, tranney, drive shaft, front axle to do a 2wd to 4wd on my 1994. Let me know if you are interested? Not sure what you would do with the rest of the thing once you are done with the engine swap.

i am going to sell the tranny and transfer case the tranny is a automatic. i am probaly going to the rest of it to but the body is rolled and i have cut most of the front end off and i am also going to keep the back door. so if you can come up with a price and are willing to come and get it. i will have just about everything tore out and done by next weekend if the weather lets me.

Are the 4wd conponents of the front end still good or distroyed by the roll. Send me some photos of the truck. Don't want to drive that far for parts I could scroung up around town.

ok i drove the vechile not even a 1/4 of a mile everything seemed to be fine the only thing that i noticed that was damaged on the front end was the shock on the pass. side was broke off. i bought the vechile off of a friend who bought it off a impound lot. the vechile has just over 80k on it i would say that everything is in good condition. what pic do you want me to post there is a snow storm coming in tonight so it will be a couple days before i can get some pic.
