I solved my problem with the 4runner's weak torque

2016 Cayenne S.

Couple notes:
- the 2 years I had with the 4runner are probably the cheapest two years of driving I've ever had. trade-in values are rock solid on these things. Just amazing.
- I'll miss the camaraderie and community here. You guys are awesome.

Now your problem is offroading ability... I had a Cayenne for 6 months and traded it for my 4runner. Anything Porsche should have a disclaimer stating... comes with torque but don't get off pavement! But really... enjoy your new ride into the office!

Thanks guys. Yes, I thought hard about a 200, and came close to going that direction. At the end of the day I don't need the offroad ability and didn't love that the 200 was 1000lbs heavier than either.

And, well aware of what I'm in for when it comes to depreciation.

Again, thanks for everything. If I could have had a v8 in the 4r, I would have kept it.

Never liked the Cayenne.. but a V10 TDi Touareg? Now that's something I used to lust over. I had the V8 powered Touareg 2 and I loved my 350 hp..

I did not however love $2500 in tires that last 18k.

Nor the $1500 front brake job

Or that $200 bill every time the CEL popped on.

Or that 15MPG that also required premium fuel.

Or the $165 oil changes

But if you have money to shit on operating costs and depreciation they are fun. :fro:

As much as I have wanted a PC throughout the years, I just can’t come to grips with the overall cost of owning one. I’m sure they are a blast to drive (on the pavement obviously)... But I’d rather have a different go-fast weekender. That, and I still just can’t get over beating the crappola out of something so expensive and nice every day. My life isn’t a 7 mile, quiet-winding back road commute to the office... It’s a 30 to possibly 100 mile per day, sitting in lots of traffic and construction zones, pot-holed city streets, while dropping off and/or picking up kiddos, and sometimes throwing work shiote in the back a few times a week, kind-of commute. Tho the T4R isn’t the most comfortable or easiest to drive in all of that, it does the job rather well IMO. All the while giving me ZERO issues along the way (and looking pretty cool too I might add). Plus I have the added benefit of knowing I can head off the pavement anytime.

Good Luck with Cayenne, I’m sure you’ll enjoy driving it. Post a pic up of her before you head out.

Wasn't looking for you guys to understand. Everyone's got their own priorities. Just wanted to thank folks for*providing such a great resource over the years.

The 4runner is a great rig. Holds its own against far, far more expensive machinery.

The Cayenne purchase for me was all about the driving experience while maintaining towing and limited hauling capability. It*beat the 200, for me, on this calculation. The reality is that it's going to*be worth less than my 4runner would have been in 5 years and probably be pretty expensive to maintain. Hopefully it'll be fun though.

Cayenne is a fun vehicle. Definitely different purpose than the 4Runner or 200, but if that fits your lifestyle, then it's an incredible machine. Much more fun to drive On-road than the 4Runner.
