Moving to CO! Looking for a drafting job!

Hey guys, I will be moving out to CO no later than August (wife's internship) and have been looking for jobs for the past few weeks with no luck. It's just really hard since I can't do face to face with companies. Anyone in the Mechanical Engineering field I'd greatly appreciate some help sourcing a job anywhere from Denver to Colorado Springs area. Looking for a Drafting Level II field but could do level I to get my foot in the door. I rather it be mechanical but open to other opportunities. Anyone care to help a 4Runner brother out?!?

I'm a Mechanical Drafter. I do process engineering, process piping design & layout, equipment modification and/or installation, material handling, power generation/cogeneration and special products & machine design. We work with companies ranging from manufacture food production to waste management.

Seems like CO is the right place. Every industry is BOOMING here now.
I would suggest trying to break in to the medicinal marijauana field with your mechanical drafting experience. Some how tie in the two.

Well so far the search has been slow. I guess no one wants to take a risk with someone from out of state b/c they're scared I wont make the move? I've applied for countless jobs from denver to co springs and I've only had 1 phone interview. It has gotten to the point to where I recently took my address off my resume just to see if that is a factor.

Second that. Being in the PNW, there aren't to many other places I'd rather live in, but the Mountain West is something I would definitely consider.

Only a month away.. Moving officially July 31st. Still looking for a job though out:

Hopefully being there will give me a better advantage. I'll be living just north of Colorado college in CO Springs. Like a 5 min walk to there lol. Should come in handy if I ever want to sneak out on the track and do some workouts

Sorry man no leads on drafting positions but couldn't help but notice you're from AR and moving to the springs. I'm also from AR but now live outside of D.C, wife and I are relocating to Colorado Springs in 2 months. She's also a drafter but going to continue working remotely for her current company, when we looked for jobs for her there seemed to be a ton around Denver.

Hope the move works out and maybe I'll see you out on the trails, seems we have a bit in common so far.

Yea, we actually moved this past weekend! No job yet but have a strong lead on one. I also noticed a lot of jobs were out of Denver. Not a ton around the springs. Some of them require a couple years of 3D experience or skills in Civil and I just don't have that. Definitely hit me up whenever you get here. We can call the hogs together! lol

Hey bud, I got a job at an engineering firm a couple weeks after we moved here. The wifey is almost done with her internship and actually got a job with the school as a substitute/para. She started this past Monday. Looks like The Springs is where we'll make home unless something changes in our careers that leads us to a different city. As much as I love northern CO, and that's where most my family is, we like being away from Denver's constant busy metropolis.

Moving to a new state with no source of income is scary but it seems as if everything is falling into place just as we hoped/planned. We're here to stay!
