MP3 CDs Skipping in OEM Head Unit

I have an MP3 CD that is skipping in my '06 non-JBL head unit. Is this a common issue? Would it be warranty covered? can I correct it by maybe burning the CD at a different bit rate? I have played the same CDs in a Kenwood Excelon deck in my last car with no problems.

Assuming that the CD is in good condition, it should work fine no matter the bit rate. I would get a CD cleaner and run that several times to help clean things up in there. I had a Pioneer multimedia headunit that started to act up like that and after I ran the cleaner several times all was good.
