MPG difference between BFG M/T's and A/T's

I very rarely NEED to use the MT's for their intended purpose, so I'm thinking maybe switch to AT's for a better balance, and gas mileage? Any thoughts?

BFG A/T have always servered me well! Plus the M/T have such a ruff ride and are noisy as hell!

I have AT's on one of my Jeeps and MT's on the other (same make and model as Jeep #1) Jeep and milage is the same on both Jeeps. The AT's ride is marginally better, but the BFG MT's really ride quite well given they are a fairly aggressive MT. The AT's have better braking/ cornering, but other than that I like almost all aspects of the MT better. You will get SLIGHTLY better handling, but I wouldn't expect any more MPG.

how about the tire balance? my M/T's don't balance worth a shit. will the A/T's balance better? I'm sick of shaking down the highway

Save a little money and get better wet or dry pavement performance and pretty much equal off road and give the Terra Grapplers a try. I have well over 30k on mine and they've been rebalanced once in 3 years.

Another option for you is getting another set of rims and putting on all-seasons or A/T's on them to switch back and forth pending on where you're going on that day.

eeh...thats alot of workk...these ****ers are heavy and also once i do the brake upgrade these little 15" wheels are gonna be paperweights

Are you kidding me, Ron?!! Are you saying that your Nittos are "pretty much equal" off-road than BFG M/T???? I hope that is not what you're saying because that is pretty funny! :D BFG M/T will kill any AT tire anyday of the week over any off-road terrain with maybe exception of sand.

If you meant BFG AT, then i really doubt that too. BFG AT KO is a better off-road tire...period. Nittos may be better than BFG AT KO on-road in some areas. Like i said before, i had both, and i felt that Nittos are cheap because "you get what you pay for." It's sidewall is really thin...it makes more noise on the highway than BFG AT KO. And as Falls found out recently, having the snowflake symbol is a benefit.
