This build began mid June of 2014 when I saw a Texas ad for a 2000 5 speed with 82k on the clock. I bought this one and sold my previous truck. The plan is to build a capable overland vehicle, just enough to get my girlfriend (soon to be fiance) and I to where we want to go. It's going to be a long ride so please enjoy!

Its already a sweet build since you've bought it, swapping over your bolt-ons. Very nice 4runner.

I swapped over most of my electrical stuff this weekend. I got the cb and dual battery wiring done. I now have a clutch cylinder where my ACR went so I also had to rewire quite a bit and make a bigger fuse panel.

I also bought a AGM Duralsast Platinum battery. They are made by Johnson Controls, same company that makes Optima and I have read are pretty comparable. The price was right though ($145) so I am giving it a shot and I will write a review after I have had it for a bit.

My battery hold down was pretty corroded as well so I wire wheeled it and then painted it.

I think its like onboard air if you pump it your tires inflate and your air lockers will engage lol

Ordered a Marlin Crawler HD clutch on sunday at like 11:59 right before the sale ended. My current clutch is FUBAR I think because I have a pretty bad vibe when I go through the power band and a little when I am cruising. It will also slip from time to time. I didn't realize how involved it is to install a clutch on these trucks though I have only done clutches on 4 cylinder saturns where I can curl the trans to pull it lol. For shitz and grinns i had my shop quote me on isntall and they told me it would take 6 hours and cost $450 ! :shocked:

Its not a bad job to undertake. Just invest in some wobble sockets and universals. It makes the bellhousing bolts alot easier.

Thanks lol. I just got this truck I had a 99 automatic before this one. I couldn't pass it up with as little miles it had on it and it was a 5 speed with a supercharger. I'm not sure how much power I'm making yet because I haven't had time to get it down to the Dyno in our engineering lab. I'll let you know when I get it done though lol.
