Much to my SURPRISE!

Although the previous owner had stated that the brakes had just been redone, after two months of owning, I decide they dont feel right and just for my own satisfaction I go to change them yesterday...

What I found is that some MORON put rotors for the 15" wheels on there when I have 16" wheels...Luckily I had planned on changing those also and had them on hand because they felt warped anyway.

The pad itself has about 1/4" of full pad on the outer edge and the rest is damn near wore out...

I have pics of this but have tried 3 different times to resize small enough with no avail...

Today I will see what is in surprise for me on the rear brakes!

Some 4runners came with 16" rim as a dealer option so the 15" rim brakes would be on there, but it sounds like you have the 16" rim brakes, and the dumbass put 15" rotors on and some of the pad doesnt even touch the rotors if im right?

John, you are correct, the rotor was too small and the pad would stick out past it.

You can always create a photobucket account and link it off that. There is even a quick copy paste to make sure the address is right for posting on boards.

Yes, the person that installed the rotors didn't know much. Any qualified technician should have been able to see that the pad/caliper didn't match the rotor. There really isn't much excuse for that.
