Mud terrain tire suggestions?

Kinda torn on what tires i should get after my lift. I am wanting to go with a 305/70r17. I was thinking about the goodyear wrangler mtr's but i dont know if i like the new tread pattern, especially the sidewall pattern. I am also looking at the bfg mud terrain ta's but they are load range E so i am thinking they might ride a little rougher. Anyone have any suggestions or comments??? I want a mud terrain.

You are correct, i was unaware if he had searched or not. The search bar is the best tool this forum has. So I, being the self-appointed search police that i am, offered what i believe to be tremendously helpful advice, which is to use the amazing and all-knowing search bar, to find the answer to a question that has been answered oh so many times before. and yes, i do agree i could be a bit more helpful and post a link (that i found using the search bar), but the tapatalk app for the iphone makes doing so difficult. so.... USE THE SEARCH BAR FIRST!

Honestly, just get the BFG Mud Terrain. They're standard on Rubicons and people everywhere use them. They may not be the absolute best but obviously they're pretty good with the large number of people running them.

I've done plenty of searches and still haven't found an answer to how a load E tire feels on these runners compared to a load D. Sorry to invoncenience you with an extra thread started on a forum where people post questions that are even answered by reading the manual. Ur a 8===D. :thanks:

Not a fan of the MT/R either in the looks department, but I've seen these things off-road and they do great. I do like Goodyear rubber though.

For a A/T with some M/T qualities:
Goodyear Wranger Duratrac

For an M/T with A/T qualities:
BFG KM2 (if you got the cheddar)
Nitto Trail Grappler
Toyo Open Country M/T

For a straight up loud and nasty M/T:
Nitto Mud Grapplers! (Yeah baby)

Honestly, just get the BFG Mud Terrain. They're standard on Rubicons and people everywhere use them. They may not be the absolute best but obviously they're pretty good with the large number of people running them.

The BFG MT's on the Rubicon are not like the aftermarket BFG MT KM2's. They are more like the old BFG MT.

I had Toyo MT's on my Jeep and thought they were a very good tire. I had load range E in size 315/75/16. They balanced well and ride quality wasn't bad and they were good year round. They are heavy.

The quietest and best made mt is the toyo. You see them on all the big rigs for a reason. Best looking too. Balance better than BFg at tires. Like any mud tire they are heavy.

What tire is "best" is purely subjective. Everyone has an opinion on what makes every tire better than another one.

My buddy has e rated tires and they ride hard! I prefer the d's because of more sidewall flex which when aired down a bit is much more squishy over rocks and absorbs the bumps better. If you do any towing though I would strongly suggest the e rated tires.

3/4 and 1 ton diesel trucks. I ran 37x12.5/17 Toyo MT's on my F250. Best mud tire I ever tried on the street. Quiet. Balanced insanely good- 1 needed zero weight, 2 others used 1.5 oz, the last a little more than that. I never did test them in real mud though. They looked and wore great.

Now when it came time for my 4runner, the Toyo only came in a 34" version, and they are HEAVY in load range E vs the load range D Duratrac I'm running now.
